Maëlys vs Maeda
Came across Maeda in an article yesterday; never heard it before and thought it was interesting. Any ideas on pronunciation?
Also makes me think of Maëlys. Which do you prefer of the two?
Thanks :)

My guess at the pronunciation of Maeda would be May-da or Ma-ee-da.
I prefer Maelys - softer, more feminine.

I swoon over Maëlys, so I would say I prefer that.
I don't mind Maeda, but the d makes it less appealing both to the eye and ear.
That said, I like that it is simple and not familiar. I think I would like it spelled Mayda or Maida better.
I also prefer Maylis and Mailys to Maëlys. Though I like them all.
Both names are totally usable imo.
