Re: Hazel or Athena? (more)

I love Hazel and I either love or like Athena.
I love that Hazel seems feminine but not overly. I love most nature names because I love being out in nature so the names remind me of my happy place. Most nature names for girls are flowers and as much as I love flowers I think tree names feel less cutesy and are more hip. Also Hazel has both a fresh and a vintage vibe which I love, also Hazel feels witchy. It is getting fairly popular but I doubt it will ever get into the top 25 so I would still be willing to use it. I would love to name a future daughter Hazel but unfortunately last time I asked my husband he hated it. Maybe some day he will change his mind but I doubt it.
I knew a few Hazel's and Athena's when I was in high school and middle school. Athena is one of the more popular goddess names. I definitely like it and I have no issues with the name. Athena was a cool goddess but I just don't like the name as much as Hazel or Artemis or Iris. I think I love the name Athena rather than like it because I love Freya and I think I care for them about as much as eachother. With how popular Freya is in Europe and how popular it is likely to become in the US I feel like I'd be more likely to use Athena even though I like them about the same. A long time ago my husband mentioned liking the name Athena so I bet if he was asked this question he'd choose Athena.
