Lyric
I like Lyric on a boy, or girl. I prefer on a boy though could it work for a boy?"There is none Holy like The Lord, there is none besides Thee; there is no Rock like our God." (1 Samuel 2:2 RSV)

I think Lyric is nice although I prefer it on a girl but not to the extent that if I heard it on a boy I'd think my parents were nuts or anything. Whenever I hear Lyric I always think of very musical parents.

I don't really care for it at all! *Thaiylande*“Don't criticize what you don't understand, son. You never walked in that man's shoes."

I like it, but only in theory, on a girl. I'd never use it; it's a bit hippyish to me or sounds like what a "washed up" musician would name their kid. I don't care for it on a boy at all. ~Heather~

I like it, but only on a girl.I just think boys like to blend in more. It's a lot more difficult for a boy to make it through the trials of childhood recess teasing with an odd name. And Lyric is a fairly soft, musical, *pretty* sounding name. It's not going to project the image that a lot of boys are going to want to have. Some boys could carry it off fine though... I guess it depends on how confident you are of your genetics. ;)Jmo.

Personally, I don't like it as a name period. It sounds SO trendy, especially after Ashley Angel from O-Town used it... (btw, loved the confusion earlier with Claire H thinking he was from Dreamstreet! I just about died laughing! O-Town was singing about wet dreams and tits when Dreamstreet hadn't even hit puberty and were singing about how cute their teacher is or whatever... and I thought I'd killed my former fangirl self! How sad to know all that...)Anyhoo, it's one of those yearly trend names. This one is used by musicians who wish they were famous but claim "it's just about the music". Cheesy and trendy, imo, sorry.

I think Lyric sounds girlie. I used to like it about 4 years ago but since it seems so trendy now I don't like it anymore.

I really like it, but only for a girl. I'm one of those people who thinks it sounds to feminine for a boy, sorry.

I think it's absolutely fine for a boy.

Some ex-boyband member named his son Lyric and all I remember is a huge backlash of "Lyric sounds 2 girly!!!!111one" from message boards.I still like it on both, though.. feh on people who think a word name can't be used on both genders.--

I think it sounds better on a boy! I dunno why...I think many word names can go for both gender (practically all can), except some seem more girly or boyish"There is none Holy like The Lord, there is none besides Thee; there is no Rock like our God." (1 Samuel 2:2 RSV)

I love it on a girl. On a boy it sounds cheesy. Self proclaimed Supernatural obsessor.

I agree [m]I don't think all word names are unisex. Joy, Faith, Rose you wouldn't put on a boy... Song words to me seem feminine, like Melody and Aria, . I think it fits better on a girl. * pronounced EH-vah =)
