Maxine
This is a name I've loved off and on for a long time. I think it's underappreciated (although it is back in the top 1000 currently) and I love the nickname Max on a girl. So what do you think?http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/87410

I think it's super ugly and loud. I have a friend named Maxine often called Max. It's really loud on her. It suits her because she is loud and nuts. It's a very specific and kind of overwhelming vibe.

I prefer Maxima. Maxine feels dated to me.

I really like Maxine, I think it'd work well on girl/woman of any age and Max is a nice nickname. I agree it's under appreciated, I'd much rather see more girls named Maxine then another girl named Avery/ Paisley/ Riley ect.

I've quite liked Maxine (nn Max) ever since I heard it on a video game character. Seeing it attached to a young, teenage girl and giving the name an image/personality, just helped me imagine it better. I like that it's feminine, but not too elaborate, and I actually much prefer Max for a girl than a boy. I wouldn't personally use it, as it's on the middle list for a cat lol, but I'd love to hear it on someone else.

I prefer Maximilienne to get Max (which is utterly adorable) as a girls' name, but I recognize it's pretty OTT. I just don't like the sound of Maxine. Most -ine names don't do it for me, Maxine is no exception. It feels clunky in spite of being short. That said I would vastly prefer Maxine to trendy names like Paisley or even Sophia which is getting pretty tired in spite of being a classic.
