This is my nan's name, and my middle name. I think it also fits on boys. I feel that it is a little unsubstantial as a full name.

I love Kay. I think it has a beauty in its simplicity and as a child I admired Kay Yow (a college basketball coach). I would use it for any girl's K name as a nickname.

As a full name I give it an 8.

It sounds dated to me. My grandmother has a couple of friends named Kay. I also know a few Kayleighs who go by Kay.

I never realized Kay(e) was a short form of Katherine. I really like that! It feels zingy, maybe flapper-y.

I've also never really thought of it as a full name, it's sort of just a syllable for a filler middle name, like Jo or Rae. I can't say I much like the idea of it on its own as a full name, but I love the idea of it as a nickname for a K first name!

It's ok as a nickname; it feels a little insubstantial as a full name to me.
