Message: "Althea" - Behind the Name

Althea has become one of my favorite names lately. While I also love similar Athena and Anthea, they do not delight me on the same level as does Althea. I wish I had included it in my August Top Ten, because it is probably my most unusual genuine favorite. To me it is such a serene, hidden beauty.

I like it in both the first and the middle name spot (e.g. Margaret Althea, Althea Jane).

What is your honest opinion? How would you incorporate Althea?

Also, I do not care for Alethea.

I much prefer Alethea or Aletheia.

Althea sounds a bit too stuffy for me. It's not terrible but just sounds really heavy to me. Also, I just want to say Alethea every time I read it.

It's not something I would use use but I do fine it very pretty. I'm not overly fond of the Al- beginning, however. I'd prefer Anthea.

I like Althea, but prefer other similar names (not Alethea). It's very pretty though. Althea Jane is gorgeous!

Ha ha, my first thought when I saw your heading was that I was going to say, "I prefer Alethea".

Althea has a dumpy vibe for me that Alethea does not. Like Alethea is this:

I don't like it. It makes me think of altoid mints and it misses the serene beauty of Alethea
