I like it a lot; probably because the only Elspeth people I've ever known were young and beautiful and lively and nice! And the name is a quicker and more convenient spin-off of Elizabeth, which can't be bad. You're right, it's not the kind of name one would wish to say into a strong wind, but how often does that happen?
