It's not bad but it seems a bit 50s, maybe because I immediately want to put it in a group with Darlene and Maureen. Carlene looks better to me. I do think it is a bit country-ish but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it depends on what you like. But when I imagine a Carlene I see her in the countryside and not in New York, it's just not a very urban name if that makes sense. Jolene seems to be making a comeback and I do think that -een and -ene names will come back into style soon, especially Maxine, Jolene and Marlene. There is also Kalina if you like similar names.
