Lana was one of my favorites when I was a teenager. I just felt like asking about it today because it actually seems to fit in quite well with current trends. It has an old Hollywood glamour association (Lana Turner) kind of like Ava and it is short, ends with the letter A and is kind of simplistic just like many common names right now (Mila, Eva, Luna, Clara).
I pronounce it LAH-nah.
I remember starting to not like the name anymore when I realized what it reads backwards :( Do you think that would be an issue? I remember us playing a game as children all the time where we called each other by our names spelled backwards. It just came up several times while I was growing up. I thought about Lanah or something but that looks just awful to me.
I know that it is the Spanish and Italian word for 'wool' if you are from these countries would that bother you?
