Octavius but it's bit over the top for me to use as a first name.

Definitely Oswin! :) However, when it comes to Anglo-Saxon names that start with Os-, my personal preference always goes to Osmund.

Octavius if I have to choose. But I can't think of any boy's name starting with O I really like.

Ogden is better than both.Because if you're going to be pretentious why not honor Ogden Nash as well?

Nope...??

Wouldn't use either, even for a goldfish, but Octavian isn't my favourite ancient Roman, so Oswin. Back to the good old Anglo-Saxon.

Definitely Octavius, although I prefer Octavio. Oswin is ugly.

OctaviusI prefer Osric and Octavian to those two

I'm pretty indifferent for both, but Oswin has a character association I like, so Oswin it is.

Oswin. Octavius is such a mouthful without any smart sounding short forms.

I prefer Oswin to Octavius and Octavian to Oswin.

I prefer Octavius. Octavius sounds stronger and more assured. Oswin seems a bit wimpy and wet behind the ears. Octavius Zair has a nice ring to it, and you could use the nick name Oz derived from the initials.

Octavius, which is pretty cool. Oswin is both ugly and nerdy to me.
