Primrose

It's a bit too 'twee' for my liking
I like it but I don't love it. I care for it the most when used as a mn. I actually prefer Primrose as a mn compared to Rose since Rose is so over used as a mn.
The name makes me think of primroses, roses, and Evening Primrose which is a beautiful scented flower that blossoms at night and is pollinated by moths in the moonlight. Evening Primrose oil is often used in perfume and has some medicinal properties.
When I first considered the name Primrose not long after reading the Hunger Games series I didn't care for it but this year I've started to really like it especially as a mn.
As a fn it is definitely cute but I feel it has subtly and substance other than just cuteness. Also it is less cute than Poppy, Daisy, Daffodil, Petunia, and Meadow. It is about as cute as Marigold, Tansy, Lobelia, Lavender, and Lilac. Primrose is definitely cuter than Rose, Lily, Iris, Violet, Rosemary, and Angelica but I don't feel that Primrose is too cute for use.
Primrose and Marigold feel like the perfect names for sisters, as fn's possibly too cute and themed for actual daughters but definitely not too cute as mn's. They have some nn's that are less cute which helps if they are used as fns although not all of the nn's are less cute. Prim, Rose, Rosa, and Rosie for Primrose. Mara, Mary, Golda, and Goldie for Marigold.

I wasn't initially going to answer, because I thought that most opinions would coincide with mine. Then I read the responses, and see that they don't. So in the interest of balance, I'm answering.
Primrose is ludicrous, only marginally less than Poppy is. I can't even take it seriously. I'm all in favor or feminine names, but Primrose goes beyond that, into wilting, fainting, bring-me-my-smelling-salts, bird-in-a-gilded-cage territory.
The woman on the far right here should be named Primrose:

Hahahaha :) I actually think of a sweet little girl. Maybe it has something to do with some posters being from the UK? Poppy is super common there and Primrose is getting popular there as well. So maybe the seem normal and more familiar there. I actually like both of them but I think I wouldn't use them.
I've always thought Primrose lovely.
It's nice and pretty.
I think it's lovely, though I vastly prefer Prunella.
I like it more than Rose.
PRIMROSE EVERDEEN!!!
I'm sorry, what? Oh, right, my opinion of the name. Um, I used to hate it until someone on this board, years ago, suggested it for a punk rock girl. Then I started to picture it on a chick with a blue mohawk and a safety pin in her cheek, and now I dig it. Hooray! :-D

Sounds like a good name for a rabbit.
yuck
It's gross. Like a cow's name, except a cow doesn't need so much foofoo. It's so sickly sweet it makes my teeth hurt.

I like it and I've recently met a baby Primrose (in the uk)
I would seriously consider using it

Maybe for a fantasy character, like in THG, but not a real person! It also makes me thing of "prim and proper", and I'm into less "stuffy" names.
