It's fine as a nickname, and it's better than Kate / Katie. I don't like it as a full name though: too cute and fluffy. Kit appeals more.

In 'Anna Karenina' there is a young Russian princess whose name is Katerina 'Kitty' so I think that it fits well on every Katherine-theme name.

I love Kitty, and it had better work as a nn for Katharine etc, because all the other nn possibilities have been done to death. I'd have tried my best to be a Kitty if I'd been Katharine, and I'd have used it as a nn for a Katharine daughter if I'd ever been talked into having one.

I think it still works. I've noticed a few little Christopher's called Kit in the past few years, so there is a precedent. Catherine / Katherine has so many lovely nicknames that if she hated it she could always choose something else.

I think it definitely works as a nickname for Catherine/Katherine, and I love it as a full name. It's among my favourites, and such a fun, happy name that I think could work (nn or not) on any age on someone with the right personality.

I think it's a cute nickname. I already know more than one person who goes by Kat to distinguish themselves from Kates and Katies, so there's plenty of room for another nickname in the pool IMO. Probably not for everyone, but that doesn't mean it's not for anyone.

I love it as a nickname for Catherine / Katherine. It would also work for Christina / Kristina, Christabel, and Keturah.

I usually hate far fetched nicknames but this one works for me as Kitty is a very traditional, well established nickname for Katherine. If I wanted to use Kitty as a nickname, I would definitely go with the K spelling for Katherine and not with Catherine.

Katherine nn Kitty doesn't make much sense phonetically, I guess it was invented at a time when half of your relatives were named Katherine and the other half Mary so you had to come up with some creative short forms :P So yes, it works for me, but only because it has a long history as a nickname for Katherine.

It is a million times better than the boring Kate and the super bland Katie. I would say that it's kind of cute. I know a young Kitty, it's her full name. She was named after her dad's nanny. I am also kind of starting to like Kathy again. After all those Kates and Katies from the 70s, 80s and 90s Kathy and Kitty seem much fresher.
