I prefer Theodore. Travis is dated in an unpleasant way for me. But I do like its sound.

I don't know how you can even compare these two names, they're not even in the same league!Theodore by miles. I happen to like it a lot, but even if I didn't, Travis is just an awful name.

Theodore 100% I'm a bit bored of Theodore, which has become hipster-trendy over here like Oscar and (sadly) Jasper. But it's still a nice, solid, 'real' name.Travis is a really unattractive example of the surname for first name trend in my view

Theodore. It's a far more classic name and there are plenty of nn possibilities.

Travis is down-market and fading. Theodore has good nns and is, comparatively, timeless and classic.

Travis does seem sort of dated, but in Texas it might seem not to matter so much.
I like it better than Theodore. I actually really dislike Theodore. I think it sounds stuffed-shirty. So I'd rather use Travis regardless of how neutral I feel towards Travis.
