Hello,
What do you think of the name Emerson? I'm a big fan of Ralph Waldo's writings. "Self-Reliance" and "Nature" being two of my favorites. I've also spent several wonderful afternoons walking around Walden Pond (I know it is more Thoreau's special place with his cabin and writings, but it was Emerson's land and Emerson let him stay on it. And there's Emerson's Cliffs on a trail there. Point is, I have an association to Emerson as well at Walden pond).

I could see it work for either a boy or a girl. Plus, my sister's name is Emily so I like a small relation to her as well. And, I enjoy the alliteration of Emerson Mustard with the medial "s" sound (my last name).

I guess it has the risk of becoming "trendy" with the similarity in sound to Madison, Mason, Addison, etc., but I could take the risk.

Anyway, general thoughts? Love it? Hate it? Would you use it for a boy or girl? Middle name ideas?
