Emma
For some reason, this name has been rolling around in my head for the past few days. I never thought much of it before, but for the time being, I'm rather taken with it. It's very green, lush. Any middle names ideas? All I can think of is Jean, but that's lame. What can you come up with? Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I prefer Emmeline or Emmy to Emma, but it's a kind name to me.I always say Lark, Fern or Wren, because I think they are so beautiful.

I broke my rule here and read the other responses before making my own. I saw Emma described as beautiful several times. I don't think it's beautiful, but it's charming. I definitely don't like it enough to ever use myself, but it has charm.

Okay, I'm going to be honest. I think it's ugly. But there is something about it. It is so unattractive that it is kind of cool. A bit like Abigail or Drusilla. I know many nice Emmas who are smart and graceful. But I also find it extremely boring. It is so bland, there are so many of them. Emma Jean is a really bland combo. Emma needs an unusual middle name. Emma Rosaline, Emma Clementine, Emma Josephine. I would also suggest Emmeline, I think it's much nicer than Emma. And if you are in the US Gemma is also a nice alternative (in Britain it's dated/overused). I agree with Emma being green. I get dark green and brown images from it, like a forest.

I have never liked this name and never will. It's a mumble masquerading as a name, and makes me think of stale body odor and oily skin.

BUT WHAT COMBO WOULD YOU THINK FOR IT?!?

Emma Grace, probably.
Or perhaps Emma Lee, just to cause the maximum amount of confusion.

I like it but it's not my style. It's very sweet and wholesome sounding and I prefer names with some edge.
How about
Emma Elise
Emma Josephine
Emma Claire
Emma Victoria
Emma Adeline
Emma Louise
Emma Paulina
Emma Adele

The popularity does bother me, although I don't know that I've ever actually met an Emma. It should be plain and boring, but I really am fond. It's soft and lovely. I see it as a yellow color. For awhile, I was very keen on Emma Dulcie Charlotte. Emma Dulcie and Emma Charlotte both work as well. Other ideas:
Emma Catherine (I know it's been mentioned, but I think it's great.)
Emma Wilhelmina
Emma Penelope
Emma Lenore
Emma Nathalie
Emma Joan
Emma Claire

I like Emma. I have a niece named Emma - Emma Faith. (She's one of the triplets. The other two are Natalie Hope and Lilyanna Grace.) My husband's sister also wanted to use Emma, she wanted Emma Grace. If I were to use Emma I'd go for Emma Rebecca, Emma Violette, Emma Caroline, Emma Rosalind.

Beautiful name! I'd use it if my cousin wasn't named this. Any middle name will pretty much go...
