Re: Rosalind vs. Jocelyn (and more)
in reply to a message by Joiya
Rosalind: Love the vintage vibe I get from it and, as a hopeful biochemist, possibly geneticist, the Rosalind Franklin association is really important for me. I would really like to find a way of fitting Rosalind as a middle somewhere for that reason. I think it's a strong name and not too saccharine like some other Ros- names.Roberta: I was really into Roberta at one point, because of The Railway Children. I still like it and have it on my list, and I particularly enjoy the meaning. It feels more natural to me to say than Josepha too. Lenore: I just prefer the sound and imagery I get from it. Gale: Gail's equally okay too, I don't really have a spelling preference, but Gayle seems like a bit much, unless it's an honour name and/or in the middle. I think Eduarda's usable. It flows well as a feminisation of Eduardo, and doesn't sound forced. Edward makes me think Ed, then Ted/Teddy, so maybe Theodora? Or Edwina.
