I think Pamela is a name in the same style as Vanessa and Sabrina (names invented by poets). But maybe there are too many mothers and grandmothers with this name, so people think it is "wrong generation"?
I don't know any Pamelas personally, but I think of a girl with dark hair, due to TV series and films. Why only blondes?
I can't say that I like the nn Pam though. I much prefer no nn or maybe Meli or Mela.
