I like Clara. I don't think it will become common though, although it has a lovely timeless appeal to it.
In England it's only got one pronunciation but I know elsewhere there is a bit of a battle between CLAR-rah and CLAIR-rah.I personally prefer the (English) former pronunciation and therefore don't particularly associate it with Clare / Claire, more Cara.
