Some Italian Names - Girls
Replies
Ludovica and Francesca are stunning. I would totally use Francesca as a first name, and Ludovica as a middle name, if I ever have a daughter. Ludovica is beautiful, but I have no Italian heritage, so unless my theoretical daughter's father was Italian, it would be a bit much...Francesca is more multicultural. Both are my favourites, though.
I also like Maia and Claudia.

Michelle and Brigitte are French, aren't they? I kind of like Brigitte. It has some old Hollywood glamour to it, thanks to Brigitte Bardot. Michelle is just hopelessly boring and dated right now. Maia, Queen, Marilyn and Belen are also not Italian if I am not mistaken. Queen is awful. Maia and Marilyn are very cute. Belen is very common in Spanish speaking countries so I don't find it very exciting.
I like Veronica, Marina, Lucia and Ambra. Is Ambra seen as tacky or trashy in Italy? Just wondering. I like it! Oh and Diamante is kind of cute.
The ones I find really unattractive are Antonella (once knew an awful girl named this) and Orietta. Tina is growing on me. I think in a few years it could have a huge comeback. It fits into current trends, being short and snappy with an -a ending just like Mila, Lena and other names that are rising plus it is the name of a Fantastic Beasts character, one of the main characters.

Hi !!!
Fantastic Beasts!
I love all Rowling'world.
But I dislike Tina, Mila and Lena.
You are right: some names aren't 'Italian' but nowadays they are used by Italians (and also Italian citizens with other origin).
For example Michelle. I've met more than five Michelle who are Italian without any other origin.
Ambra is quite trendy -especially in some regions) but tacky is so much! No it isn't. I like it too because of the beautiful gemstone.
