This name has been a favorite of mine for years. Growing up, I took Spanish classes in school an
Luisa was always my name in class. I know the English version is typically
Louisa. I do like the way it looks a little better, but phonetically, why not just use
Luisa? Plus,
Lucy and
Luna are getting more common now. Why not
Luisa? Oddly enough, though, never been a fan of
Lisa, which is so similar.
I am not Spanish or Latin, though I'm not sure if that matters if I were to use
Luisa. I had a student once named
Lola who wasn't Spanish or Latin either though. I think it's more of a personal choice to honor heritage or not. Would it bother you if someone used a name from a different heritage without being a part of it themselves? Or does it help to diversify our world? Related questions I guess.
Maybe it boils down to a matter of preference. Which do you prefer...
