Birth Announcement
We are blessed to welcome to the world our newest little love: Viggo Paul Christie. We knew he’d be joining us early, but he came even early than expected (at almost 35 weeks) on Tuesday, January 3rd. He weighed 4 lbs 15oz (yay!) and is a surprising 18.75 inches long. Due to his early arrival and size, he’s been in the NICU, but he’s doing very well and it hasn’t stopped Momma and Daddy from taking over 175 photos already!Viggo: Viggo is a Nordic/Scandinavian/Viking name that means “battle/war/fighter” as well as “little one in the cradle” and it was the name given to the youngest, most handsome boy on a Viking ship. Paul: He shares his middle name with each of his grandfathers. It means “small” or “humble.” It means he also has a Christian middle name like his brothers.Christie: My maiden. We wanted this in there as a strong tie to a strong, much loved, much admired family, so he’s got two middle names.Big brothers Fletcher Isaiah and Cormac Joel are pretty thrilled. My Boys, My Joys!

Congratulations! It's quite a handsome combination. I'm especially fond of Christie -- I love "feminine" names on boys (e.g. Laurie as a nickname for Laurence, one of my favorite male names).
