I only like the French form of the name, which is Cédric and is pronounced as say-DREEK. The English form and its pronunciation just seem cold and hollow to me, while the French form seems vibrant, even powerful to some degree.

I've always rather liked it - I knew a really dishy one at school. And it's much better than Cerdic, though I usually go for the great original if there is one. I don't know how long the Harry Potter connection will last.I keep noticing French guys named Cedric, which delights me.

I really like it. I like the sound, and it has a heroic, medieval Arthurian knight imagery. Also Harry Potter :)!

It is ruined for me because the name of the Royal Sorcerer is Cedric on the kids show Sophia the First. And since my 4 yr old watches regularly I am now done with name.Other than that I think it is a fine name. Not really used in my part of the world though. I have known one in real life, a very smart two year old named Cedric Emmerson. (first and middle name)

I love it, even though it's a misspelling/invention.
