Gladys
Today on the subway I heard a 5 or so year old girl being called Gladys. What do you think?

Love it, it's a favourite old-fashioned name for me
Interesting! The youngest Gladys I know is late 20s-early 30s (and is a French-speaking Congolese).
It seems less dated than Janice (sorry, Queenv!), probably because it's actually more dated. And if it was pretty a hundred or so years ago, why shouldn't it be pretty now? No unfashionable sounds, unlike Gertrude; no unwanted ambiguity, unlike Fanny. The only possible problem would be a resurgence of the jokey old nn: Glad-Eyes! But perhaps the world has improved and it won't happen.

I love it. I've met a couple young adults named this and it wore so well in reality. I would use it were DH on board.
It is very unattractive. I like some fusty old names, but not this one.
My mother's grandmother was Gladys, and as kids they would jokingly refer to her as Glad-ass. X-D

It's nice, it makes me think of flowers. But maybe it's a bit too old-fashioned.
I love it!
I'm not sure how I'd feel if I heard it IRL, but it does make me think of glads (the flowers), so it's very bright and cheery and summery and that's nice. I like it on a little girl in theory, I'll say.
I wouldn't use it because to my ears it's not quite time, but I do see it being cute on a little girl.

Sounds old fashioned and dated yet cute and sweet.
It's not something I'd use personally, but I think it's cute.
It usually makes me think of gladiolas.
