I thought of Hungarian first, only because I know some very basic Hungarian and some words end in "-ok". I don't know as much about their names.

I just looked her up and she's also Aunt Muriel in Harry Potter, haha.

If it is Hungarian, I'm guessing it might be a diminutive.

Maybe a diminutive of Matija, or something similar (it looks sort of like Mátyás)?
