Oliver
I *might* finally get the appeal of Oliver. Tell me your opinions and why you would or wouldn't use it. Maybe also what you would pair it with.

I like Oliver because it is a good solid name in my opinion
It's been right up the top of my favorite names for years and years now despite how popular it is in my home country. I find Oliver handsome and friendly sounding. I love the nickname Ollie. I think it's easy to pronounce and spell. It is quietly strong but not rough or uber-masculine. I just love it.
I think I generally have a bit of a preference for what I see as "good guy" and friendly names for boys. Finn (my absolute fave), Joseph "Joe", Jack, Samuel "Sam" etc all fit this to me as well.
Finn, Ollie and Joe sound like some brothers I'd like to hang out with.

I didn't use to like this name, but now it's growing on me. I love the nickname Ollie!
Oliver Daniel is a cute combo, or Oliver Michael!

I like it but I know it is a name I would never use for any of my future children...or even pets. Oliver is a nice and decent name but I do prefer others over it. Also the fact that my cousin has an almost 2-year old son named this. The name is completely unable for me. I don't mind

Oliver Sam

Just a few ideas at the top of my head

I hate it. WHen I was little, before Oliver got to be a hipster darling, it often showed up as a name for a goofy character or pet in kids' books.
Beyond that, it feels like something slippery and gross in the mouth. Like olive loaf.

It is plain and dull so I wouldn't use it.
I love the way Oliver looks as well as sounds. I love its classic-ness, particularly in regards to Oliver Twist which is one of my favourite books. One of my best friends has dibs on it for a FN but that's fine cos it makes a great MN =)
