no joke, my name is
Tabitha (said exactly as it looks - tab-ith-ah) and yet people - fellow born and bred Americans whose first language is English - constantly mispronounce my name! I've gotten tab-ee-tha, tab-ee-tah (some seem to think it's Scandinavian or something, unless they're Latin and then it's understandable as they don't have the "th" sound), tayb-ith-ah, tayb-ee-tha, etc... my least favorite mispronunciation is a subtle one however that really used to piss me off as a kid - tab-ah-tha! NO! I don't have an 'a' in my name!
So, yeah, it doesn't matter. I say go with
Niamh because no matter what, people will say it wrong, even if it's spelled
Neve.

A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh I miss you, you know"
