I knew a guy whose entire family (4 girls, 2 boy, and of course the parents) all had 3 names plus a surname. Worse than that... they all had the same initials... B___ C____ R____ L______. How horrible. Keeping in tradition, he had two daughters and they both have fn, two mn, surname. THANK GOD they don't have the same initials!!!

I have met one person who had three middle names. I personally would not go past two middle names. I plan on using two for at least one child. I might use two middle names for all of them.

I've only known one with 3 middle names... besides royalty (which I do not personally know) usually its not higher than that.
I plan to name all my kids with 2 middle names as well.

I know a girl with 6 middle names. They're nice names, but mostly we just laugh about them. They arePetra Pilar Rosa Renata Edna Svea Monrad (Monrad is her father's last name, she uses her mother's)

One of my friends is Mexican (well, I have a lot of Mexican friends but I'm closest to her) and her name Jocelyn Beatriz Pilar Olivia Ines Juanita Crescencia Marisol +Surnamelol, I found it so funny that you know how you can label people on hotmail? That's her label. Well, the initials are. Her mom says her full name so often, I never forget what each letter stands for so her names on hotmail looks like this:JBPOIJCM
Slmao. But I just call her Jocelyn :) Her abuela calls her Ines though.

Yeah, I was about to say in some cultures more names are given, and use Mexico and Latin America as an example!

Hmm, its all about personal taste & more often than not it has to do with family history. Everyone on my side gets two so that what we'll be doing. However, esthically I could tolerate 3 but its just seems like people are naming a bank then. After awhile it can make the parents look like they weren't naming a child but rather just trying to appease their egos and get everything they wanted in selfishly IMHO.
However, I remember a birth announcement that made headlines 5 - 10 years ago or so (somebody here must have the actual name, I'd love to hear it again. *nudge*) where this girl was given 13 middle names because she was born after 13 hours of labour & on the 13th day of the month (for some reason February 13 comes to mind) and that just seemed like a ridiculous publicity stunt to me. I remember thinking that it must have been a joke. Thats just too many names and quite frankly takes away from whatever the child's first name is. Besides, isn't that the fun & hard part - eliminating names & picking suitable combinations? Jacks, Future Mama to Attached Babies
