I know someone who named her daughter Elliotte, nn "Ella" (for a long time I actually thought her daughter's name was just Ella). At least she feminized it and gave it an ending like Charlotte, but I still find the name masculine. Cosmopolitan, but masculine nonetheless.
I also prefer Elliott, or even Eliott. For me, the Ts are more important than the Ls, I guess. :-)
