I know someone who named her daughter Elliotte, nn "Ella" (for a long time I actually thought her daughter's name was just Ella). At least she feminized it and gave it an ending like Charlotte, but I still find the name masculine. Cosmopolitan, but masculine nonetheless.

I also prefer Elliott, or even Eliott. For me, the Ts are more important than the Ls, I guess. :-)

I absolutely hate it. Out of all the nice girls' names out there, I struggle to understand why someone would use the name Elliot for a girl when it's not even nice on a boy. Yuck!

I think Elliot (although I prefer it spelled Elliott) is really accessible for girls since it has the easy nns Ell/ Elle and Ellie, but even if she doesn't go by a nn, it still works well.

I think it's great that a lot of names are becoming more unisex lately, and people are seeing that gender just isn't that big of a deal. I also like a lot of other "masculine" names for girls like Wyatt, Logan and Rory. A girl with a more masculine name can go by a nickname or maybe her middle name if she wants something more feminine, and she'll probably appreciate the option.

I like it, but then again I have a thing for making every name unisex. I just think gender is becoming less and less relevant these days (slowly but still) and so I don't have an issue with boys name on girls. I know many may disagree but thats just my opinion :)
Also if the girl called Elliot decides she wants a more feminine sounding name Ellie is a cute nickname

Awful. I only like it for a boy. I was actually talking with my sister in law about baby names recently and she told me she plans on naming her future child Elliott, whether it's a boy or girl. *Cringe*

Don't think it works, too obviously masculine for me

It just sounds like - we thought we were having a boy (or worse...we hoped we were).

I really like Elliot/tt but only for a boy.
