Opinions on Lucia?
It's slowly climbing to the top of my list. What are your thoughts on the name? I only like it prn loo-see-ah. Not a fan of the Italian prn.

I like it, and more in the Spanish than Italian pronounciation, in spite of being Italian.
I really like it, and as Loo-see-uh too. The only pronunciation I really dislike is Loo-shuh. Anyway, I think it's elegant, and sophisticated, but fun and energetic too. I gar more interesting and exotic alternative to Lucy. I love the meaning too.
I keep thinking about this name lately too. I've sort of disliked it for a long time because I do not like the "loose" sound, and have had a negative image of Lucy forever. But in Lucia, the emphasis is on the SEE part. I guess it tends to become Lucy anyway, but even that is not bothering me as much as it used to.
It still feels Italian to me when it has 3 syllables. Not that Italian is bad, just that it seems specific - like, I kind of expect Lucia to be an Italian or Italian-American.
Well, it's OK with me. Still not a favorite. I think it'd fit in as a baby name, what with the trend of Sofia, Isabella, Gabriella, Olivia, etc. that has been going on.
