I like River. Ryan is okay. They run together terribly. Rivarayan.
Normally I like alliteration, but not with Rs. Since our last name starts with R, it has influenced how much I let myself like R names. No Rosalies or Rorys over here. :)
Ignoring the alliteration, I think it's an odd combo. The names don't suit each other.

I have an R alliteration name. :P
Agree on all points.
I understand loving a name and wanting to use it even if your last name doesn't work, but people still need to have common sense. Luke is off the table because it runs into our last name.

Sounds like an old Chevy trying to start on a cold morning.
I quite like alliterative names if they flow nicely together but this doesn't. Also, a very difficult name to pronounce in many other countries. I think his parents have done him a bit of a dissservice there....
I can barely say it.
I was trying last night and tripping all over the name!

I'm all for alliteration (all of my names begin with M), but there is something so very off with this name it hurts!
And I dislike the ambiguity too - although in England Ryan is firmly a boys name - I am aware that in America this name could be seen as quite unisex.

I'm guessing boy? Actually I'm hoping boy, because I can't stand either name for a girl! River I do really like a lot, but Ryan is kind of dated and boring imo.
