Nina, any day. (My very much younger self used to think that naming twin girls Nancy and Nina would be a really good idea ...)That said, Mira doesn't happen where I live, so I've got no associations with it. I'd expect it to be a nn for Mirabel, Miranda or even Miriam, and for all of these I prefer the full form.

My niece is Miranda nn Mira.But she's never, ever gone by Miranda. IN fact she's Mary Miranda nn Mira. Imagine how confusing that is!
