Cole or Donovan?

Cole by a mile.
Donovan !
Donovan
Cole no question
Donovan.
Cole!
I really like Cole. I'm sure it comes off as a bit late 90s/early 2000s but that doesn't bother me much. I also like it as a nn for Nicholas.
Donovan is really associated with the mononym for me. And it's kind of a lame one because, even though know I know I'm generalizing, I tend to chalk him up to Bob Dylan's overeager friend.

I can't choose. I really think they're about the same. I've encountered kids with both names recently, and they're about equally okay. I like Cole because it's easy to say, friendly, namey... I don't like it because it's surnamey and feels like it lacks substance. I like Donovan because it's sorta smooth without being slick, but I don't like it because it is long which makes it brooding and the only real nick is Don. I'm putting Donovan because I personally would choose to use it, as it's more my style than Cole is - not because I truly like it better on other people.
