Rafe
WDYT? A friend has just chosen this for her second little boy. He joins older brother Jude.

It's my preferred pronunciation of Ralph, but I don't like either pronunciation enough to use the name.I'm also used to Rafe, and sometimes Rafie, as a nn for Raphael, which I do like. Raphael seems overambitious, and Rafe brings it nicely down to earth.

Reminds me of 'waif'.

Jude and Rafe are quite cute together, I don't mind it at all.

I like it, but I think it should be a nickname for something, preferably Raiford.

I really don't like it. It makes me think of something horrible

I like the way Rafe sounds but it does remind me of "rape." Jude is nice, too.

I have always liked Rafe and I really like it with Jude. I find them very different stylistically, Jude is softer and feels somewhat religious, whereas Rafe is dashing, but they work well together with their lengths and long vowels.

Rafe is a bit too nickname-y for my taste. However Jude and Rafe make a cute sibset.

Gah, I like it in theory. I like Ralph Fiennes, but I also only ever say his first and last name together. Unfortunately Rafe reminds me too strongly of rape. :( If it was spelled differently it might not.
