nice name!My in-laws have always persisted in thinking that my daughter, Carol, is actually named Carolina (Caro-LEEN-a), and Carol is just a short form.
I've never bothered, past one early try, to convince them otherwise, since it doesn't matter.

Wow, even the in-laws have no idea? Are they Carol's grandparents?This reminds me of my sister's in-laws. They spell my sister's dds' names Amy and Kimberly when they're really spelled Aimee and Kimberley and they HAVE been reminded several times. I don't get it.

No, I never knew my husband's parents;they died young. These were his sisters, and brother.English isn't their first language, so, no point making a fuss.
