Carolina

I like Carolina. I think I like it better pronounced Caro-LEENA and not Caro-LIENA but I would use both
It's ok, I prefer Caroline.
No, I never knew my husband's parents;they died young. These were his sisters, and brother.English isn't their first language, so, no point making a fuss.
Aha! See my post above.
When I see it, I always think 'Carolina Panthers' automatically, which is sad because I don't even care about football.
Also, I notice the Carol- part of it more when I say Carolina than when I say Caroline. I think because I place more emphasis on the O.
...and now I'm actually not sure how to pronounce it as a name. I think I want to pronounce it differently than I do the state, which is weird.
Ok, I instinctively pronounce them like this:
Caroline as KER-oh-line.
Carolina as Ker-OH-lie-nah. (states and football team)
Carolina as Ker-oh-LEE-nah. (name)
I like the last one the most. Caroline 2nd most.

Pretty name. Adds more flair than Caroline.
Ha, when my sister was pregnant with her first child she considered this name. That child is now almost 22, so I guess about the same age as the barista. My sister said she had considered Carolina rather than Caroline to be a little different and because it's not as common, but ultimately decided it was dumb. I think it's dumb too. Maybe the fact that I live in South Carolina doesn't help.
