Re: Mn help, honoring questions, is a nickname as a given name ok?
in reply to a message by Aoiar
I personally think that using nicknames as names is alright. It's really just fun! I don't know why anyone would be upset.Luke:
1. Luke is a name that never went away. It's one of the oldies that are pleasing to the ear and simple. I don't know if it's popular currently, but it's definitely not going to be rare anytime soon.
2. I can see Luke standing on its own. I never liked Lucas that much either.
3. I think I would use another simple, classic name as a middle name. Like Daniel, Philip, William and others like that. If you want something more fancy I would go with Axel, Atlas or Memphis. My final choice would probably be Atlas, but that's just my opinion.
4. I think Luke would be associated with Luke Skywalker from Star Wars a lot. It depends on you if you think that's bad or not. Other than that, I think it's a name that doesn't have any more associations. None on the top of my head, that is.Lucy Kate
1. Kate is a little too popular for my taste, but Lucy I can handle.
2. Lucy. Just Lucy is great.
3. I believe that having Kate as a middle name makes Lucy sound more common, if that makes any sense. Here are some other ideas: Erin/Eryn, Danai, Helene/Helena/Elena, Justine, Regine, Noa, or Min.
4. Lucy could be associated with the movie Lucy which came out sometime in the last few years, but it's a forgettable movie so that wouldn't be a problem. Other than that, it's a name that reminds a lot of us of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds by The Beatles. As a person named Jude, I don't find it that bad!Good luck with the naming!

I love atlas! Helene is actual a family name. A beatles association is always a good thing (and i adore hey Jude)
