My father picked Irene with the Italian pronunciation. It's his favorite name. Marikit is Filipino. Tagalog specifically and is the word for "beauty" in everyday speak. (husband is Filipino).
I have another daughter - Clarisse Bituin Gioia ("bright, star, joy")
Same pattern : French name, Tagalog name, Italian name. Nickname: Clary______________________________________________
