If it sounded like HELena, I agree. If it sounded like heLEEna or heLAYna, I don't.And that's why I'd avoid it like the plague. I'd use Helen in a heartbeat, or Elinor. (Yes, I can do the etymology! But the sounds and the look are what count.)

I agree, HELena is best. Never even thought about trying to pronounce it any other way.
