My name is Jessica and I don't like it because it has "sic" in it!

I love Jessica. It's a really pretty name I would use. I don't mind the sick part. I went to school with 3 Jessica's and they loved there names. I like that it's going down in popularity because I totally would use it.

I don't like Isadora because it has "sad" in it, and I don't like Jacob because it has "cob" in it, and I don't like Felix because it has "fe" and "lix" in it, and I don't like Felicity because it has "elicit" (etc) in it, and many people don't like Scarlett because it has "scar" in it. Are any of those silly to you? Because not liking Jessica because of "sic" seems silly to me.

I don't like Penelope because it has "pee" in it. All those you listed are silly, but Penelope/"pee" isn't, lol.

It's not like the "sic" is pronounced. I'd never even noticed that sound "could" be in it. It's a very common name, no one thinks much of it I'm sure. I don't mind Jessica at all. It's upbeat and friendly, and I think Jessie is really cute.

I'm not that much of a fan of Jessica either. I think I would like it more if it hadn't been a coined name. It dates back to 1596, making it leaps and bounds more legitimate than the new 1990s-present trash, and Jessica was based off the legitimate Biblical name Iscah, but Shakespeare was just one guy in one time period. By that logic, I could make up a name, say Fhejsjsuuz, become a popular author, and see it chart.I'm actually okay with the sound of Jessica, though; I just think that Iscah and/or the variant Jescha should have been the mega-popular name.Cheers!

My name is also Jessica. I like it because I love the nn Jessie and like the nn Jess. I never noticed the "sic" part until someone else said it and it really doesn't bother me too much. I think I prefer Jessa or Jessie as a full name rather than Jessica but everyone would always assume my name was Jessica anyway. So yeah, I like it =)

I don't notice the 'sic' either, but that might be because where I live, we say JES ih cah, not Je sic uh. The name is dated, but I still like it.
