Naming the twins
So we don't if we're having two boys, two girls or one of each yet, but we've started thinking about names. Tell me what you think of these... All middle names are honouring. You can say anything you like. What do you think of the names, do they work together, do they go well with Myrtle and Vance... Anything.Roger Nicholas Tate
Nigel Alexander ShawI'm not sure about Tate... I was also thinking of Roger Nicholas Huck, but somehow it doesn't seem to flow right. Roger Nicholas Shaw
Hester Olive NelleI like both names, but I'm not so fond of the fact that they rhyme... Maybe Olive Hester Nelle?Hester Olive
Nelle Adelaide**Mommy to Myrtle Nola (22-10-2012) and Vance Paul Conrad (16-04-2015)****Expecting twins in July 2016**

I like when two names (first and middle) are relate together. What's your and your husband's surname?I think Shaw is too sounds as a surname. And Tate what does it name?
Nigel is more for black man.
It's very good Roger Alexei Shaw or Roger Nikola Shaw.Hester is name for Jewish person by me. What about only Olive Nelle?
I like Adelaide but I think that a name Adalheid is much better. What about? Olive Adalheid?

I feel like you "need" a Rupert. :)Roger and Nigel go great with Myrtle and Vance. And the combos are very well put together. Roger and Nigel are not at all my style, but I think they would fit your family. And I love Tate.Hester and Myrtle are also very good together.

I think Nigel Alexander Shaw is a good combo, and it works well with your other kids. Not keen on Roger at all, but somehow it does fit in with the other names. I'm not really a fan of Tate either. Nicholas and Huck are ok. I don't like Hester at all, much prefer Esther. Hester Olive Nelle is clunky and off. Myrtle and Esther sound cute together. Olive fits too - Myrtle and Olive go well together. Nelle looks weird to me, I like just plain Nell. Nelle Adelaide is nice.

Two small ones and twins... you have both my congratulations and my sympathy.I remember you posting here when naming Vance. You were down to two, I think, and I can't remember what the other name you had was, but I remember loving it... it was a dreamy, poet kind of name... only, it's not here in your possible boys names. Whatever it was, I think you should use that if you have a boy. It was perfect.Personally, I don't feel Roger or Nigel work at all. Myrtle and Vance sound like they have their own beautiful story, written on the pages of a dusty book. Roger and Nigel are just kind of lame. A bit silly, a bit stuffy, and totally uncool.Hester, yes. Definitely. Hester belongs in the dusty fairytale of Myrtle and Vance. She fits like she was always meant to be there. Nelle... not so much. She may appear, but she'd be the unimportant barmaid at the inn which is only there to give the heroes somewhere safe to sleep at night. She probably stirs the stew, and nothing exciting ever happens to her.
I'd be kind of annoyed if I was Nelle. Olive as a first name, I'd say no to that as well. It's too... I don't know. I just don't like it. Maybe it's just because I hate olives, and also food names in general. I know you didn't ask for suggestions, but I'm going to give them anyway, because I'm like that. I can't help it. Feel free to ignore them all (: Boys:

I think the dreamy, poetical name you mean is Lyle... I'm still very much in love with it. But I find difficult to find something to pair it with. Lyle and Hester would work, but another boys name to go with Lyle... I don't know. Also, I remember Lyle not getting a lot of love here. Suggestions are fine, thank you. I like Merlin, Asher, Anwen, Elspeth and Linnet. Sage is a long term favourite of mine, but as you say, not ideal with Myrtle.

Lyle! Yes, Lyle. Lyle is perfect. You need a Lyle. If you're still very much in love with it, I think it should go on the list. Lyle and Hester together are perfect. Lyle, Hester, Myrtle and Vance even more so.You're right, though, that Lyle doesn't really go with Roger or Nigel. But then, I don't think Roger or Nigel go with Myrtle and Vance. Lyle may be a little harder to find a boy's name to match, but I don't think impossible. I like Lyle and Vaughn... Lyle and Merlin, and Lyle and Asher also work for me. I glad you liked some of the suggestions.

I think Lyle goes perfectly fine with Roger ot Nigel- better in fact that Roger and Nigel together (which seem too matchy to me.) Lyle and Roger are both sort of bookish and wooly but also sleek and rebellious. Nigel and Lyle are a bit rhymey but still fit ok, though I think Nigel does sort of overpower Lyle. They're a bit "know-it-all" but not in a pushy sense- in more of a curious educational way. This pairing is more one-note, I admit, but I really do like Roger and Lyle together. I don't particularly care for Lyle but it's not badETA: also I think Lyle is nicer with Hester. Roger and Hester together are stern, Lyle and Hester together are reserved but friendly. Same goes for when considering the names in your current set. Roger stands out as a bit "bullyish" next to Myrtle and Vance, whereas Lyle is right on their level.

Roger seems terribly dated to me (not in a good way like Myrtle) and Roger is used as a slang term for having sex or wanting to have sex in the UK (I'd roger that) so I just can't get passed that. I like Nicholas and Tate is kind of cool and unexpectedNigel is also terribly dated, though I slightly prefer it to Roger. I also dislike that it is shortened to Nige. Alexander is okay, though I always find it a little dull in the middle name spot. I dislike Shaw and it doesnt have the same cool feel as Tate doesHester is lovely and I remember you considering it when pregnant with Vance. I really like Hester and think sisters called Myrtle and Hester would be gorgeous so this one gets my vote. I also like Olive (first name potential?)Nelle is nice, but looks a bit incomplete to me. I think I'd prefer it as a nickname for Helen / Helena /Helene. I like Adelaide

I like both Roger Nicholas Tate and Roger Nicholas Huck. I don't know which i like better.I definitely prefer the flow of Olive Hester Nelle over Hester Olive Nelle. I don't like Olive Nelle very much.I think all your names go well with Myrtle and Vance. They are all unusual oldtimey names. Although none are very "in" now, I can see them all making a comeback within a generation.

Huck doesn't work for me. Tate does! And Roger Nicholas is so super-excellent that you need something good to live up to it. Shaw is fine, so why not Nigel Alexander Tate and Roger Nicholas Shaw?Nelle puzzles me - would it sound like Nell or Nellie? And is it wise to use an ambiguous spelling? I hope it's like Nell! Though I had two distant aunts, on different sides of the family, both with Nellie as their one and only name.I honestly don't enjoy hissy Hester. Esther pleases me more, and I'd also choose Olivia over oily Olive, but then I could - I had an aunt Olive whose actual and unused name was indeed Olivia. Adelaide is nice.

Ok, I'm going to be honest and hopefully not sound too brutal! I think Roger and Nigel are horrible! Both names sound very dopey to me. I don't think either name fits in with your other children's style of names, nor do Tate, Shaw and Huck. Nicholas and Alexander fit much better.Hester is nms, I much prefer Esther. Olive is alright and would fit well with your other kids names. Nell is nice but only that spelling, as Nelle could be mispronounced as Nellie and Adelaide is nice. Other suggestions are: Agatha, Agnes, Alice, Audrey, Bethel, Blossom, Camille, Celeste, Cleo, Cora, Daisy, Daphne, Della, Demelza, Edith, Edie, Eloise, Emmeline, Etta, Evelyn, Faith, Faye, Felicity, Freya, Guinevere, Gwyneth, Georgiana, Hadassah, Hazel, Heidi, Iris, Ivy, Johanna,

I asked for honest opinions, so you can be as brutal as you like :-) I love a lot of the names you suggest, but none of them feel like the name for our child, and some my husband just can't like. Or I can't use them for some other reason. I adore Rosemary and Basil, but in the same sibset with Myrtle it's a bit ridiculous.

Roger Nicholas Tate // Roger Nicholas Shaw - The flow is good, but I think Roger is incredible ugly. Sorry.
Nigel Alexander Shaw - The flow is good. Nigel and Shaw aren't favorites, and Nigel strikes me as quite goofy, but I don't mind it really. What about Nigel Tate Alexander?
Hester Olive Nelle - I don't like the flow of this one. I can really see Hester with Myrtle and Vance though, it would be a great choice. Maybe Hester Olivia Nelle? Or Hester Eleanor Olive? Of the names you mentioned so far, my favorite combo would be Hester Olive Adelaide. Other ideas:
