I love Nell! I prefer Nelle as it looks more like a complete name (not just a nickname) to me. I may very well consider it more seriously some day because it's my great grandmas name. Nell Rebecca is sweet. I think it works best with a 3 or more syllable MN. So I like Nell Sophia better than Nell SophieNell Amanda - I don't even like Amanda but it works fantastically here I think.

I want to love Nell so much but I think of the strongly mediocre Jodie Foster movie. That association kind of turns me away. But I heartily suggest it for someone else!I also like Nella, esp. as a nickname for Eleanora.Lets try something earthy in the middle:Nell Amethyst
Nell Hazel
Nell Lavender
Nell Daisy
Nell Iris
Nell Winter
Nell JessamynOthers:
Nell Lenora
Nell Lorena
Nell Diana
Nell Winona
Nell Ramona
Nell Virginia
Nell RosemaryETA: As I'm typing it, it kind of looks a lot like Neil. It might get confused on a roster or whatevs.

I only like it as a nickname for Eleanor. Even then, I don't love it or anything. But of course I think Nell Victoria is the best of the combos.

It's sweet, although it also reminds me of the (death) knell of a bell, which is slightly creepy. I prefer it as a NN or MN. It pairs well with a lot of longer names.Nell Andromeda

death (k)nell....I like that. A lot. I must add Nell to my "subtle creepy aesthetic" list. Which I just started now.

I would actually love to see such a list. :)

I used to find Nell disappointing, but it has really grown on me. It's strong and no-nonsense, while also being quirky, woodsy, and storylike. Nell Sophie is cute! But you're right, it's missing something... Nell Sophy maybe? Nell Sofie? Some ideas from me:Nell Moira
Nell Millicent
Nell Amanda
Nell Amy
Nell Philippa
Nell Evangeline
Nell Matilda
Nell Ophelia
Nell Bronwyn
Nell Evelyn
Nell Marguerite
Nell Ivy
Nell Genevieve

Too short and cut-off. If on it's own, then I feel it would make a better middle
