I like Skye, too :) There is, indeed, something hippish about it. But it's not as bad as I would care about. I think you can combine a lot with Skye. But I would avoid combinations with other wordy names (e.g. Skye and Olive seems a bit strange to me).

I'm not very sold on Farah, but the meaning is really beautiful. I think it's no problem to use it as a non-arabic person, because it's not a very exotic, strange or complex name.
