I just met an Emmanuelle from France who goes by "Manu."

I think the name fits okay with Theodora and Daphne, but not Barnaby or Rufus. It's just so French that distinctly English usage names don't fit with it.

I might try Alix, Adeline (French prn.), or Carine.

I like it equally for girls and boys. I prefer the English rather than the French pronunciation for boys though.
