WDYTO Coraline?
I first saw this name used in Neil Gaiman's children's horror novel Coraline, and I really, really like it. He's probably made it up himself (at least I haven't seen it anywhere else, and it's not in the database on this site), either by deriving it out of Cora & Coralie, or by mixing up the first vowels in Caroline (in the novel, Coraline's senile neighbour keeps calling her Caroline, even though she keeps correcting him). Anyways, what do you think? I personally love it.

I like it. I'm sure I've seen it used, too. Sure, people would mix it up with Caroline in real life, but it wouldn't be all that big of a deal.

I like Coraline but I would personally rather use Coralie just b/c people might mix it up with the more common Caroline.

I love that book! And I do think it's an interesting name.

Yakko: Well it's that time again!
Dot: To make fun of the Disney Channel?

I like Coraline - both the name and the book!
All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.

It has a certain charm about it. It's offbeat, but yet antique-sounding. I give it a thumbs up!

I love that book! But I don't like the name Coraline much, I prefer Coralie. And people would probably mix it up alot with Caroline, like in the book.

Well, I just read that book and adored it, so I'm a bit biased. It's nms, but since I love the character, I can't help but think it's nice. I do prefer Caroline, though.
Coraline definitely existed before the book; by looking it up on Rootsweb.com, I found records of at least 20. In any case, it's a very pretty name.

I think it's ok,
I really prefer Coralie though.
Every time you rip my heart out
Every time you break it
I pick up the pen I hold in my hands
And write the most beautiful poems
But you know what
If it's alright by you
I'd rather be happy than a poet
