Ellen
Ellen - what do you think?
Replies
It's not exactly thrilling but it's sweet and pretty. I bet it would be really nice in the right combo or if you were sentimental about it.
All I can think of is Ellen Degeneres.
Love. Always have. If I could get my husband on board it would be on my short list.
Ellen is sweet and strong. It's due for a comeback.
The only reason it's not on my lists is that there are so many closely related names I like a little bit more: Elinor, Nella, Helen, Elena, Olena, Ileana, etc. Such a lovely name family.

I like it! Very calm, feminine and classy, but you don't meet too many Ellens.
And I love E-names.

It's no secret that I LOVE Ellen. It's the best name in the world.;)
Love it, always have. So much nicer than Ella, wonder why Ellen isn't more popular.
I'm always puzzled by what I think. Ellen seems drab and dowdy and totally lacking in charm - one of the least interesting names on the planet. And yet I love both Helen and Eleanor or Elinor, and I've got nothing against Nellie though I wouldn't use it.
Not sure why, either. No bad Ellen experiences that I can think of.

Ellen is a beautiful but underused name. I don't understand why it doesn't get more use. It doesn't seem plain to me.
Ellen doesn't exactly set the world on fire yet it has a quiet elegance about it. It's classic and would stand out from the crowd.
I like it. It's soft and pretty. It's not one of my faves, but I can't think of anything negative about it.
Pleasantly bland, familiar, undistictive. Mature because it's slightly dated, but never could be a fad enough to really go out of date because its personality is so mild. Brings Ellen Degeneres to mind slightly when it's not attached to anyone, but the name is too plain to be a strong trademark and remains generic enough to use. If names are cheeses, Ellen is cottage cheese. An Ellen could be impressive, she could be a nobody - but most likely, she is just an average gal. A solid C, 7/10.

I have always loved reading your comments and I agree!
Unobjectionable but nothing special.
