Clara, Colleen, & Mary
Clara Bow, Colleen Moore, and Mary Pickford inspired this thread. I have a thing for 1920's movie stars. So, WDYT?

Where's Louise Brooks?
I like Clara a lot, but of all the "Clare" names my favorite would probably be Clarice / Clarisse (the latter spelling is used in "Fahrenheit 451").
Colleen has always seemed "dated" to me, but I have no doubt it will find popularity with the current hipster generation.
Mary Pickford is amazing, but the name Mary itself is so, so overdone. So many Marys in every generation - even Marie would be 10x better!
I'm surprised Louise Brooks wasn't in the OP, though. I personally dislike the "wheeze" ending, but a lot of people find Louise quite charming (I prefer Louisa).

Clara's my second favorite name, only just losing out to Annabel.
Colleen is one of those names that's just... there. I've never had strong feelings one way or the other toward it. *shrug* It's a name.
Mary's a family name (my grandmother is Mary, and my sister is Mary-Jo) as well as the name of a good friend, so I'm fond of it.

I want to like Clara because of its nineteenth century quaintness. But I can't help it, it makes me think of a cow. It's funny that Miss Bow had such an un-sexy name.
I don't like Colleen because it's faux Irish.
And Mary, we all know I despise Mary because it's so generic. Far too generic to make one automatically think of Miss Pickford.

Because it was so common for centuries. It couldn't be generic if it weren't old, which is not to say that all old names are generic. It's a combination of overuse and that overuse being spread over a very long time. I also think that John is generic.
Of course, this is just my opinion.

Colleen is the least blah of the trio, but even it is kind of dull and glum. Clara is kind of seen as stylish in some circles now, and Mary might not be popular anymore but it's everywhere and totally forgettable. A little Colleen would stand out for sure.
I am not really into any of them. Of the three Clara would be my favorite.
I like all three, and I think they would make a darling sister set.
They would make a great sibset, wouldn't they? If I ever have triplet girls, I'll go this route.
