Zeus
What would you think if someone you knew named their baby boy Zeus? Honest reaction, don't sugarcoat it. Willoughby wolloughby willina, an elephant sat on Billina.

Even though I'm a firm advocate for mythological names I'd scowl a little bit. Zeus was an a-hole and a rapist in the stories. So yeah. Not that good a connection.

God, how pretentious.

I'd think they were a Greek mythology enthusiast. And, I'd hope he wouldn't live up to his namesake.

I would think it was about as eccentric as Athena or Apollo or Artemis, almost as eccentric as Jupiter. No big deal, not pretentious or hipster, maybe kind of nerdier than thou. The only thing that makes it seem bad is that it's kind of a cliche dog name. But I think everyone knows it's a Greek god.

I would think it sounds a little silly and tacky somehow, but it's not horrible.

I like Zeus, so I would be happy. A little surprised to see it on a real kid, but refreshing from all the Oscar's and Elias's.
I actually planned on naming one of my old birdies Zeus. He ended up with the name Sigge when I realized I had pronounced Zeus wrong my entire life.

I would laugh a lot, hoping his parents were funny people. I could see it working for the right people to be honest. It really would depend on the parents.

Someone I know nannies for a little boy named Zeus. I think it's pretentious and makes no sense. It's a very upper class, fair-skinned family, and I just cannot picture it ever not sounding absurd asking Zeus to clean his room or help daddy find his yacht shoes. ;)Usually I give people the benefit of the doubt when they use names I would never, ever, consider. But Zeus is just too much for me.

I honestly don't know what it is about Zeus (I like and am totally fine with so many other Greek myth names), but it just seems unfit for a child. It seems pretentious and too try-hard-cool on the part of the parents, and I think I'd either cringe or have to fight back laughter whenever I'd have to call/hear someone call the child by the name.

I honestly would think it would be a silly decision. Zeus is a name I just can't fanthom on an human nor take it seriously. Zeus is just better on a pet.

I'd think they were pathetic hipsters (pardon the redundancy) brimming with self-satisfaction at how "quirky" they think they are. And I'll be laughing when they meet their artisanal baking group leader's own Zeus ... a big, shaggy Labradoodle.
