I am a Catherine-with-no-nickname myself, but I like K/Cate, K/Cath, Kiity, and Kit. I strongly dislike K/Cathy and dislike Katie.

I would say Cate/Kate or Katie. I think Katie is a much better spelling than Katy, although I have meet women with both spellings. Kathy and Kathy both sounds dated to me.

Kitty, Kitty, and Kitty! I love, love, love Kitty as a full name too. :) And I love cats too :p.

Kate is my favorite, and I also like Kate on its own.
Katie is cute and it has grown on me.
Kit is fun and spunky.
Kat is probably one of my least favorites, but I think the right person can really pull it off.
Kathy I find dated.
I also really like Katia/Katya, but I think it would run into pronunciation issues in my area.

Kate is the easiest and simplest nick-name from the Katherine - Katrina set of name styles. A true plain Jane, yet grand in its simplicity.

My favorites are Kate, Katya/Katia, and Kaia. I also like Katie for a little girl.

I really like Kath, Käthe and Kaethe.

It makes me think of Miss Kitty from the Gunsmoke radio show. Kat/Cat is my second choice.

Kat/Cat is my favorite. Everything else is overplayed, though I don't hate Cate.
