Sandra
What do you think of Sandra? Is there another nickname you can think of for Sandra instead of Sandy? I like Sandra but don't like Sandy and would want to steer people away from that nickname to another. Thoughts?

Well the nickname of 'Sandy' may be avoidable. So if you really dislike it, I think it would be wise to steer clear from the name all together. Deedee\dydy\di\di

I love Sandra!
It already IS a nickname and doesn't need one.
But I think Sandy is fine.
Otherwise, Zan.

Most of the Sandra people I know or know of just go by Sandra. I do know one who goes by Sass, but although she carries it off well, I wouldn't recommend it.

Zanna is the only other one I can think of. Andy or Andra might work too. I do like Sandra, but it is quite common where I live in a dated way. Tons of Sandys in their 60s right now. Still, I find it refreshingly simple and sweet, like Susan. I would honestly just use Sandra all the time and forget the nickname.

I think of Sandra as a nickname in itself, so I don't even want to suggest one. I'm sure she'd get Sandy sometimes but I believe she could easily go by Sandra without any issues.

I think it's cute. There is a very nice teenage girl who works at the local library and her name is Sandra, and she isn't ever called anything but Sandra, so a nn is not automatic. (My stepfather's older sister is also Sandra, but she is always called Sandy, which I also think is cute.)
Andi, maybe?

I know a Sandra who goes by Sani. Andie could also be a potential nn.

Sandra is a nice and underused name. However, I too don't like the nn Sandy. Where I'm from Sandy is often used as a full name and is considered trashy (together with names like Mandy, Cindy or Chantal).I know a Sandra who goes by the nn Sasa (prn. Zah-zah). Maybe Sasha could also work.

I don't mind it but I find it a little dated. It's my mums name. What about San?
